Ensupra grid tie power inverter can obtain the solar energy from solar panel, and can tie to the grid through its output cable with no extra equipment. The installation is Do-It-Your Self (DIY). When the sun shines, the PV panel will produces DC voltage, and the grid tie inverter will change the DC voltage to AC voltage and puts out power to the home grid, saving electricity. INSTALLATION: 1, Connect the Solar Panel or Wind Turbine s DC supply cables to the DC input terminal of the inverter, be sure that the polarity is correct. Recommended DC input cable size for maximum output is 12AWG or cables that can handle more than 15A. Optimal length would be less than 8m, longer cables will experience higher voltage drop. The range of output power of Solar Panel or Wind Turbine is 50W~600W. 2, Connect the supplied AC power cord to the inverter and plug it to a home wall socket. 3, The green LED indicators will glow when the grid and DC supply is detected. Most helpful customer reviews 28 of 30 people found the following review helpful. Ensupra 550W Grid Tie Inverter By Narine Charran This gid-tied inverter works as advertised. I am starting with a small 100w 12v single solar module and this was the most affordable micro-inverter at an affordable price that I could find. Installation was easy, just connect the positive wire from the solar module to the positive pole of the inverter and connect the negative wire from the solar module to the negative pole of the inverter. I used grounding lugs to connect the ends of negative and positive wire to the negative and positive poles of the inverter. I crimped the ends of the wire from the DC volt meter (not voltage tester) to the inverter to measure the voltage from the solar modules.The Ensupra Inverter checks for 12v on the DC side then samples the voltage/frequency on the grid and then synchronizes and connects to the grid. The input voltage ranges from 12v to 29v. Thus anything below 12v will shut down the inverter. Also anything above 29v will also shut down the inverter. There is a built in fan to cool the circuit when it gets hot. When you first turn on the inverter the fan comes on for about 10 seconds. Also during the day the inverter fan will cycle on and off. One thing to note is that when the fan comes on the inverter disconnects from the grid until the fan shuts off.I can add modules until I outgrown the inverter. Works Perfect as Described, but Not UL Listed By Dave Plummer I've been running this for a couple of months now and it works exactly as described. I feed the output from my solar panels back into my house, and while I don't have the capacity to sell back to the grid, it offsets my use. I have the connection going through a KillAWatt meter so I can monitor that it is, in fact, pushing power.For the technically minded, it appears to bias the voltage by about .6V RMS (or 1V peak to peak) over the existing line voltage, which is about what I'd expect.At the 100W range that I'm running it at the fan kicks in periodically and runs for a few seconds. The documentation says it has a thermal cutout at 62C (in case of overload or if the fan died), which I cannot verify but I hope is correct. This unit is not UL listed, which worried me a bit. The reason, I suspect, is that the price to have something certified by UL is the same for a 5000W inverter as it is for a 500W unit, so it's not cost-effective to do so with smaller units. Still, I am somewhat concerned about leaving a device that's not certified connected 'permanently' and when I'm not home.To the one reviewer that complained it was 'inefficient' because he was only seeing 60W from a 100W solar panel, it should be understood that solar panels only make their rated power under ideal conditions (probably at the equator at noon on the solstice) so 60W seems reasonable to me. From my tests, it converts to AC about 90% of what I would otherwise see if my panels were connted solely to batteries.I do not believe this inverter would work with a source that was internally regulated (as some wind turbines are) as it expects the open-circuit voltage to be higher, like a solar panel.For those that are considering a hybrid system, I have the output of my panels connected to this inverter AND to a charge controller. While the batteries are charging the inverter gets virtually nothing, but then as the batteries charge the inverter begins producing and the charge controller takes maybe 0.1A to maintain the batteries.
